Each day at the Kaerek design center, we help our customers pick selections that make a home uniquely theirs. We are so excited for 2017, and we feel it is going to be one of the best and trendiest years yet.

Here are some design trends that our design team feels will take over in the new year:

1. Totally Taupe

Sherwin Williams announced its color of the year and 2017 is the year of Poised Taupe. It’s elegant mix of warm and cool makes it “the new neutral” per Sherwin Williams. We could not agree more, and we know that this color is going to make its way into a lot of Kaerek Homes this upcoming year.

Cottage Plank2. Laminate cottage plank line

This color of laminate just recently came to our design center, and already we see customers raving about it. We know that the Cottage Plank series of laminate is going to be a popular pick this year. It has an authentic look and feel, while also maintaining the benefits of laminate including durability and low maintenance care.

Slate Fridge3. So Much Slate

GE recently released its line of slate appliances, and in addition to its elegant design it also has superpowers. This new line of dark matte hides fingerprints, smudges, and dirt unlike traditional stainless steel. The stone inspired color is sure to fit right into your color scheme, and that is why we think we will see this as a trend in 2017. This color is only available through GE, and is available through our design center so you can be sure to put it into your new home.

Plank Tile Bathroom4. Walk the Plank (Tile)

At the end of 2016 we saw this beautiful trend come up of tiles that appeared to look like wood. The plank tile trend brings an organic and relaxing feeling into bathrooms or laundry rooms, and with new colors in 2017 we predict this trend will carry through the next few years.

Quartz Countertop5. Quality Met With Quartz

Our last trend that we expect to see a lot of in 2017 is Quartz. Unlike granite, Quartz is non porous and is less maintenance than granite. Quartz is also more durable than granite and is available in more solid colors than granite.

These trends are available through the Kaerek Homes design center, and we are happy to answer any questions you have! We hope you have a great new year, and look forward to seeing you in 2017.
